ABOUT COURTNEY

Courtney is an Integrative Somatic Practitioner, Reiki Healer, and facilitates breathwork and meditation. She seeks to connect with her clients through the common threads of the human experience. Believing that everyone has the inner wisdom and strength to heal themselves, she uses the narrative written within the body to help individuals uncover the tools necessary for their healing.

Her methods aim to remind clients of their innate capacity to awaken, design, and transform the story of their lives by utilizing various modalities for healing. Through her approach, she hopes to inspire individuals to listen deeply to their inner voice and trust themselves as the ultimate authority in their own lives. She views this as creating a supportive space for clients to reconnect with their truth and remember their essential wholeness.

Courtney grew up in southern Appalachia, a transformative region that bridges the past and present, the visible and invisible. Her heritage is intertwined with nature and the mystical, fostering a profound bond with the mountainous landscape and the enchanting magic within the land.

Courtney’s career in trauma-informed care began when she witnessed the injustices endured by the land and the people of the mountains. She has provided support to survivors of interpersonal violence and human trafficking and has also worked in counterterrorism. In the nonprofit sector, her efforts have concentrated on changing workplace cultures to foster more just and inclusive systems and structures.

Courtney is an educator and researcher specializing in gender, sex, sexuality, and social justice. She teaches college-level courses in Gender, Sex, Sexuality, and Sociology. Her published research examines women’s representation, reclamation, and resistance through social protest and music. Courtney’s work is grounded in justice, healing, and transformation from the roots up.

Courtney’s writing inspires others to reflect on their lives and inquire within themselves. Through writing about her journey of self-discovery, Courtney hopes to encourage readers to inquire within and unlock their potential for healing and growth. Her message is hope, empowerment, and tapping into the wisdom in all of us.

Ultimately, her goal is to spread more light, love, and understanding in the world through the power of authentic storytelling.
